About That Sauce ...

Well, it's still not perfect -- I've been meaning to say that when I had it on the cabbage slaw it was ... too ... intense? - not too *spicy* for me, but maybe too salty, or maybe too vinegary (I used 2 T. and the wrote the recipe calling for only 1 T.) ... Anyway, I can't quite pinpoint why it seemed too intense. It wasn't "run for a drink" intense, but ... still. And I'll still eat it up and enjoy it, but feel I must go on record to say "still tweaking!!"

I can't make another batch yet, until I finish the first, but I'll report back when I do. And if you try it, let me know what you think and any changes you try.

Oh, Kelly, if they don't sell fancy shredded cabbage where you live ;-) you can chop your own (if you possess two good hands) and regular vinegar should work if you don't have rice vinegar. :-D

Alright, alright, I've got to get moving. My 9 year old son said, "Did you ever notice in books that their homeschool runs a lot smoother than ours?"

:sigh:

Oh, but try out the emoticons in the comments -- you *should* be able to just click them to add them ...

they sell coleslaw, but it's pre-bagged... fresh shredded tastes better but I'm soooooo lazy! and I think Red Owl even has rice vinegar. They're pretty cool for a township of 3000.

I bet all that sauce needs is some heavy cream or some peanut oil to make it taste right, lol.

no emoticons here... maybe only when the comments window is separate, rather than at the bottom of the entry? I'll go try, because you know I have to have them...

oh there they all are! :blah: now I can decorate all my blather. Mac is laughing and pointing to all of them. :wiggle:  Oh now Bubbie is here too and also pointing. so even if I'm not a smiley type of person, it sure made my kids happy! :boogie:

Hmmm they should show up when you're entering the comment .... Is there a different comment window on the individual archive??

Bagged un-sauced coleslaw mix, yeah, that's what I buy.

I was thinking of trying mom's yogurt-for-oil trick, but I did add a little oil 'cause dad said it needs it to carry the flavors or something ...

**gasp** you're right, I need the code here, too!!

 So, you don't read my blog? :-(

:sigh:

Hey, Janne is making a Haven Blogroll for us to add to our blogs, so we can easily click on our friends blogs who blog at a different site. Can we add yours?

Posted by: April at May 17, 2006 11:56 AM

Since we blog at so many different places, I created a Haven Blogroll (just for the current and "on break" Haven ladies). If you'd like to participate, let me know and I'll add you.

Like this? Intense is good, then it can be diluted.

You know, having it less strong on cabbage and rice, it was just right, not too intense.
