Finishing Things

Guess what?

I finished my dish cloth tonight! Yay for me!
I turned back to decrease early, at 36 stitches instead of 44, but since I was using slightly larger needles and thought "hey, it's big enough" anyway, it's fine. I had a little yarn left over, maybe I could've made it another 8 rows out and back, maybe not.

Here it is!

I think I'll continue to work on dish cloths for small projects that only take weeks to finish, lol, but may also start work on a poncho for eminoodle. I can already see my tendency to knit like I cook, taking inspiration from patterns but unwilling to follow them strictly. We'll see how much trouble it gets me into!

In other "finishing" news, Saturday the boys nearly finished the fort roof. They ended one or two boards short. Here's Gark scaling a small tree to get on top, and Tobi-Wan on top, thanks to the still-in-place ladder: -- the eventual plan is to have a 2nd story deck with railing for safety.

And a blurry (but sort of x-files-ish) shot of the light filtering in through the roof, from inside:

Nifty, huh?

What a wonderful dish cloth! Beautiful. I laughed so much at your remark about only doing small projects that take weeks to finish. My husband laughed too!

So. You're not really going to use it on dirty dishes, are you???
