Ta Da! Baby, it's cold outside. Sometimes, when you're out walking, wouldn't it be nice to have a warm place to tuck your hands? An additional layer when your gloves aren't keeping for fingertips warm enough? Okay, I didn't invent...

It's COOL! Or maybe I should say it's warm. It looks great! What a great way to NOT lose a mitten... or I guess if you do you lose both :o) but they're great! You'll be the next Grumperina... well maybe not, she's far too persnickety. Sorry I can't help you with the rolling edges... but they don't look bad, they look warm and cozy!

how cool is that!!! great great job. I must say I've never seen anything like it, but think how great it would be with a turtleneck and a puffy vest? I'm very impressed.

Great idea, Kim! And since you were working from memory, not bad on the designing either. I know how to knit, but I prefer to crochet or sew, so I don't make many scarves, hats, etc. However, with our wonderfully COLD Mid-Ohio weather yesterday, I could have used the extra layer over my gloves while I was walking from the car into work!!!

Cool! Now you just have to incorporate a hat into that scarf and you'd have everything you'd need in one warm knitted thing!

Awesome, Kim! As for the rolling, I read somewhere that the stockinette stitch will roll like that. So, did you knit one row, then purl the next? If so, that's why it rolls. I would go for a different stitch pattern to get out of the rolling.

But that is just way too cool!

You are soooo awesome! I can't believe you are already designing your own patterns!! It is very cute.

Yep, stockinette stitch will curl. That is why patterns in stockinette often have a small border of garter stitch on each side. Depending on the width of the scarf you are knitting and the desired width of the border, just knit the first 2-5 stitches and the last 2-5 stitches of each row, no matter what stitch you are using in the middle of that row (Knit, purl, etc.).
