I'm Getting A Banana

I'm getting a Banana!

Well, Bananagrams, to be specific.

I ordered it yesterday, and got an email that it's already shipped!

I'm so excited.

We played a similar game to , years ago, and I kept meaning to get one for us, but never did. And here's the same idea, but in much cuter packaging! And I think the number of tiles will make it great for playing with children ~ not so many as to be overwhelming for younger spellers. I can't wait until it arrives!

Also, I'd like to start a vocabulary word a day ... or week? ... But I am not organized enough to choose my own regularly. And the Doctor Dictionary thing I signed up for is really not quite kid friendly. I want words that will stretch them, but ones that they'd really use, in real life. Words that mean things they already know, but stretch them a little. Any ideas where I can get said words without too much required of me?

In other news, it's the last walking day of the month. The end of my February Stay On Program challenge. Did you try to stay on program with healthy eating and exercise this month? How did you do?

I'll post again tonight, after I exercise - or perhaps tomorrow for the official weigh-and-measure post - on how my month rounded out. I made my walking goal, and then some, and stayed pretty much on program except for one unfortunate plunge into the microwave popcorn the other day. But I chose to bounce back, and I'm glad. I am looking forward to a similar March challenge. Will you be joining me?

I did not make my one mile goal. I've been down all month and just today am starting to be able to walk without pain again. I could do the mile today, but that would be pretty dumb since the shopping, cooking and laundry have been done by kids all month. Time for me to move in baby steps around the house first!

I did pretty well this month too. Bring on March!

Bananagrams looks like fun! I love word games. I also love games that two people can play. 4 player games are a pain because that means all three of my children have to play and we have a 6 grade age gap between my youngest and older two. Thanks for sharing!

Vocabulary: I would look up a long Dickens novel or a Bronte novel or a GA Henty novel or a Jane Austin novel and skim for words for your vocabulary list. you could probably make a list up for the whole year in just an evening. If you could keep from reading the book.
