T'Mahk Too - Comments on Lies, Lies, Lies, yeah ...

We had a local homeschooling conference yesterday. Just for the day, 9-3. That was a nice little time slot for a conference. It's the first local one, and that was neat. The Keynote speaker was Todd Wilson from Familyman Ministries....

Dear Kim,

The thing I think he didn't say (and maybe it is in his book) is that sometimes the lies are half true. For example, my house may be cleaner than yours but does that really matter? In the long run when we are trying to produce Godly children of character, is it going to matter that I had less dust in my house? I think you have to look at the "lies" and then look at your priorities and say "it is okay that my children are eating those icy pops that are nothing but sugar and water (of which by the way I found four of in the freezer when I was looking for something else!). It is not really affecting my goal of a good relationship between myself and the child and God."

And I need to look at my priorities and decide whether or not I'm spending too much time on cleaning and not enough on enjoying the children.

Gotta Go!

That song...it's done by the Thompson Triplets, right? ;-)

I'm glad you enjoyed your conference. I think you should blog about some of the lies that he mentioned.

Good afternoon Miss Kim. :) I hope that you are doing well today. I am glad you enjoyed the homeschooling conference. I have never been to one and have been homeschooling for 11 years! *gasp* LOL And, had tons of books on it and was researching it the six years before that. (thinking I was going to be able to homeschool my sons)

Congratulations on your five-mile WATP! How awesome. I do like that one quite a bit, but limit myself to how much I'll do it so I don't burn out with that "where do I go now since I've done the max you can do" feeling. Some weeks I do three, and others more, but usually at least three miles about once or twice a week. (I do many other things on the other days)

Praying that you will have a lovely day! Hugs, Robin

Stay awake two days in a row? Sounds too difficult for me. I'm a serious napper, as you know.
