It's almost ... WHAT!???!?!
It's almost time for the church yard sale.
I've got another week.
In my head.
But it turns out, in reality, in the real world, where the church and everyone else lives, I've just got another DAY.
Yes, that's right. Tomorrow is the LAST day for drop off.
Today was the first day.
So not a BIG window. But somehow all along I missed that the drop off was only on two days, and those days were Sunday and Monday.
So I've got a heap of stuff in the basement. Mostly packed up, but not totally.
And we've got a houseguest.
And a husband with a busted back.
And a suggestion to take it easy and ease back into physical activity as my body recovers.
And a heap of stuff in the basement.
Only some of which was really gone through carefully.
Phooey.
I guess tomorrow I'll set the children to tidying the main floor and I'll do what I can to sort out the clothes and half-packed boxes in the bedrooms, and drag up what I can from the basement, and try to take a trip or two to the church.
If it doesn't get done tomorrow ... well, it'll probably still be sitting here next year.
Next year maybe I'll plan ahead even better.
Reading the flyer about the drop-off, for example.
Posted by Kim at April 22, 2007 11:40 PMHello dear Kim. I am praying for your hubby's hurt back. OH how I know that pain. I have to be careful for the rest of my life now, with lifting things and moving things.
I am praying for you to get the things done you need to get done and that the other things won't bother you so much, waiting for another time when you don't have so many things to deal with. Hugggggggs, Robin
Posted by: Robin Bobbin at April 23, 2007 12:24 AMtake it easy. that might sound like an impossible suggestion with all you have going on but i sure hope you find time to rest yourself.
Posted by: melissa at April 23, 2007 12:31 AMAh, the perils of not actually reading the flyers. Happens to me often, usually when a deadline is involved and I THINK that I know when I have to have everything done. Most often, it involves something at church. The church people probably all think that I've got a few screws loose.
Ah, and about your comments the other day (on my old blog and the new one)...I got totally tickled reading them and was giggling out loud at the computer while Bobby was trying to watch a telivision show. He shook his head and mumbled something about me and "those blog people." I'm glad that you were able to comment on the new blog finally, though...I think that I managed to fix the comment section so that you didn't have to sign in. I think. I really have absolutely no idea what I am doing.
Oh, and since I'm already writing a book in your comments section...I'm still praying for all of you! ((((hugs))))
Posted by: Leigh at April 23, 2007 8:53 AMIt's called "Oh, dear houseguest, we need your help. Would you be so kind as to take this already-bagged-up stuff to the church?"
Don't be shy. If it were me, I'd JUMP at the opportunity to help!
Posted by: Peggy at April 23, 2007 9:28 AMI forgot your salad makings bags this morning -- how about I bring them over early this afternoon and we can load (Kids and I) up my van for atleast one trip to the church on my way home.
Moog :-)
Honey, you are recovering from a miscarriage, you have company, and your hubby has his back "out." Call the church and ask them to come pick up your stuff! I am sure they will. If not, call a friend and/or take Moogie up on her offer above!
Life has been so crazy, hectic for me lately that I have not even had time to read any blogs. I am sorry to say that I was totally unaware of all that you have been through the last few weeks. Golly, Kim! I am soooo sorry! Wish I could bring you a casserole, a loaf of fresh bread, and a hug.
