My good hair days last about 10 minutes too! I guess I should call them good hair moments. The best thing for hiding the gray at this point in my life is highlights. I could get my hair highlighted at a salon in Romania (cut and styled too) for less than $20. I may try the at home version here in the states.

Imagine living without mirrors, or cameras! We women are famous for having our self-images be out of whack with how others perceive us. I still think I'm young!!! No glaring-light-of-day-photos for me, thank you very much. Who cares? Silver is shiny and lovely and your spirit is shiny and lovely and just don't give it another thought!

I liked this post and all the comments resulting from it. (and a related post right after it.)

The older I get the more I see genuine beauty in Godly older people which makes the young adult 'beauty' seem really shallow in comparison. I'm not so afraid to get old and grey anymore.

I think I understand your yikes, Kim...and I sympathize. Like Kelly, I admire the beauty of godly older people...and I hope I look as beautiful when I am old(er). I just never wanted to look older BEFORE I was older, any more than I wanted to look 20 when I was 40. I guess I just want to look my age...and I still think I'm too old for a head full of gray!

So for a while longer, the gray gets banished four times a year, whether it likes it or not.

I am totally agreeing with Kelly!! Young beauty is just that... young. With the years of loving, laughing, caring for your family comes the beautiful silver ringlets I see in those photos.

What I would give for long, curly, SILVER locks! Mine are thin, and I have to keep it short to keep it looking decent. but I tell you what... I love the silver that highlights my hair.

Aren't you glad our Father sees the beauty in us we don't?
