Don't ever let me go internet free again

Did you catch the mental blog stream I was sending out? 'Cause I blogged the whole trip in real time in my head. And, unfortunately, I've forgotten all the funniest lines.

Almost broke down twice and paid for internet access. But I survived.

Here's a glimpse of what you missed:

My namesake, spotted on the way up:

It was very foggy and sprinkling on our way to the Island:

Here's Iliacat and I, taking pictures on the island, when we were just generally damp and not yet soaked to the bone:

Cannon Firing at Fort Mackinac:

There's a few more (of the 307 I took) on my flickr space, including the artsier fartsier ones, if you want more. I tried to limit the pix for the dial-up peeps.

Oh and I made sure there was no pictures, but Iliacat and I got to swim several times ~ there's a cool indoor waterpark in Mackinaw City ~ and I don't hate my new swimming suit. (I followed your lead, Karen, and found a little swishy-skirt to go with the new suit) I figure not hating a swimming suit is blogworthy these days. LOL.

We had a nice time. But it's nice to be home. 'Cause blogging in my brain was tiring.

Wow, Kim!!! That looks beautiful. I think I've found where I'd like to celebrate my 20th anniversary. If I can talk hubby into it....we'll have to look you up!!

Did you have a nice time?

Glad you're back, though. :-)

Your outing looks like a wonderful time! Was it a getaway for Iliacat's birthday? What a neat gift. The mother in me is wondering, though...who nursed Buzz while you were gone?!

Rosanne - warning, slug enclosed!

Chickadee - it was a rare instance of having my youngest be old enough to leave ... I was a little nervous about being away so long, especially with my #1 helper with me instead of home helping, but they all did fine without us. :-) I don't know when I'll get the chance again.

Betsy - Buzz did fine without me, apparently was even in a pretty good mood. I have reason to believe he's not really doing much when nursing anymore, especially since being gone, LOL -- but it was the first thing he asked for when I walked in the door, and has been sticking to asking at his usual times. So I guess the trip didn't wean him, either. :-) Oh, and yes, it was a 'milestone' birthday gift. I made sure she didn't expect such a trip every year, LOL!!!!

What a neat trip! I'm glad you had a good time. It's funny about Buzz. (thinking about Sam here) I would almost be afraid to go away even overnight because of the potential, so I'm glad you weren't uncomfortable.

Your photographs are wonderful. You are getting
better. I am glad you and Iliacat had a good time.

I'm just shocked and slightly embarrassed to see you both in jeans. ;-) Looks like a wonderful time away together. A. would love to do that, but R. would be so jealous.
