It's all in the dirt!

I did it!

Can you believe it?

The Grand Lunar helped me get some of the space ready, and I pruned, sawed, dug, and planted all afternoon and evening.

I planted:
4 tiny baby lilac bushes (including one red, one lavender, one deep purple and one white)
3 tiny baby blue hydrangeas
3 tiny baby bare root dead stick looking sub-zero hardy hibiscus
1 tiny itty bitty baby butterfly bush
6 blue asters
6 jacob's ladders
3 butterfly blue scabosia

I hope they grow, and look nice, and don't die, and don't take over.

I took before pictures. But it was getting dark so I didn't take after pictures yet.

It would've been a lot easier if I'd just prepared for planting before they arrived.

Live and ... well, I don't really expect I'll learn from this, other than intellectually. I'm sure I'll do the same thing next time. Stupid procrastinator.

hooray! how fun. can't wait to see the pix - and the actual plants someday! I just saw scabiosa at WalMart yesterday and was tempted to get some... but since I was just running in, and Daniel had the kids in the car, I didn't.

btw in case some of the plants don't make it, I think most plant companies have a replacement guarantee if they don't live for the first year. oh wait! you've got an even better guarantee:

I love lilacs!! We had one in our yard when I was growing up. I should look and see if there are any that will grow here--and then get one. All our neighbors have hydrangeas. Those are pretty too. Right now, I have nothing blooming--oh wait there is ONE maragold that came up. LOL

Good job! I used to have some Jacob's Ladder but the Spirea crowded it out. I should get some more.

Can't wait to see pictures! :) Hugs, Robin

Oh my! We girlies just looked through all of the flowers' pictures and ooooooo and ahhhhh the whole way through.

Your yard will be *awesome*

It sounds like you've been busy! I don't think you'll kill them. The weather might, but not you. LOL!

wonderful! I hope everything lives. :) I want another lilac bush, but feel silly planting here, when we don't plan to be here long-term. I guess I'll wait and plant them at the farmhouse, instead.

I ordered from MI Bulb, too, with a handy-dandy discount. :o) I didn't get my plants in the ground right away either. LOL Not a chance! Do you think *I* would have prepped anything? ::no::

They're all planted now. Six blue moon hydrangeas, two butterfly bushes (ordered one, two were stuck together so I separated them), three bare root lupines and 3 bare root fernleaf bleeding hearts. Yay!

Good on you, mate, for planting beauty. Don't forget to fertilize with some organic fertilizer to help them grow. Don't put MiracleGro into the water table . . .
