Vanity, thy name is Kim
I'm sure you all woke this morning wondering, "How is Kim doing in the vanity department?"
Well, to satisfy your curiosity, I have two tidbits to offer:
1.) weight ~ thanks to being sick (yay, sick!) I'm down to 25# off my highest, as of today. The best news about that is I've kept off what I lost when sick and another 1/2 lb on top of that. That leaves me with 11 lbs more to hit the top end of the "healthy" rating on the BMI, and I'd like to see at least 19-24 more off (including that 11) to be at a better place in my zone. I'm not sure. As short as I am, it seems like I should lose even more than that, but I never have been much below that.
2.) hair ~ okay, I know I said I wasn't going to color it ... but I was at target and I found this product, and it was on sale. It's John Frieda's color glaze, and you put it on in the shower, when your hair is wet, and leave it on for 3 minutes, then rinse. It's supposed to slowly build up some blended color, plus and shine and stuff ... I've been using it not quite a week. Not sure if I see any difference yet. And I only got the glaze portion, not the coordinating shampoo and conditioner. So maybe that's part of why ... But if it's not an abrupt change, and if I could taper off slowly without a clear growing-out line, I'm willing to try it. I'll keep you posted.
I need to go get lunch for the munchkins now. Hope you all have a good weekend!
Posted by Kim at July 13, 2007 12:02 PMYou probably think this comment is about you.
Posted by: dale at July 13, 2007 12:54 PMOh the color glaze... Yes it works, give it another week but you have to use it about every other day (that is how often I showered) draw back: it made my hair look a little greasy but you have curls to cover that. I didn't use the other products. But it didn't cover enough so I just went back to using the wash out in 28 showers stuff, no roots but my hair never has the same color for more than a week at a time.
Posted by: emmaus at July 14, 2007 1:26 AMYay!! on the weight!!! I'm sorry that "sick" is what helped, but I'm really glad you've been able to keep it off. You'll reach your goal eventually.
Posted by: Theresa at July 14, 2007 6:55 AM25 pounds is awesome!! I need to get myself in gear and loose some more.
Posted by: Karen W at July 14, 2007 9:59 PMI, too, used the glaze for awhile. Actually, I bought the shampoo and a trial of the glaze came with it. I have pretty fine/thin hair and I found the glaze weighed it down, so I couldn't use it often enough to see if it made a difference. I think the shampoo actually did a decent job in keeping my color longer, though. Good luck ; )
Posted by: esea at July 15, 2007 9:56 AMGlad you're feeling better :) and Woohoo on the weight loss!
I haven't gained... so that's a "woohoo" for me ;)
and, do we get to see pics?
Posted by: Dawn Penguin at July 17, 2007 10:38 AMYay!!! on the weight loss. That's is great. And it's a lot to be proud of too. I'm glad you are all mostly well.
Posted by: Shari at July 17, 2007 1:56 PMHello Dear Kim. :) I hope you are doing well today. I have recently come up for air from a six week-long slump. This past weekend I was so blessed to see the sunshine again, as the dark cloud passed. I've been thinking about you and praying that you are happy and well. I am motivated once again and back on track with losing weight. Because of all of the walking that we do, I managed to only gain back 6 pounds during my slump, whereas I've easily gained back 10 or 20 in slumps previously. So, I'm in the high 190's and headed in the right direction once again! We have 22 Ladies now at the Christian Homeschooling Moms Healthy Living forum at SP.
Sending you BIG hugs today and a smile, too. Hugs, Robin
