My dh's family also called them dumplings. But you are right, they ARE noodles. Must be an Illinois thing, right? That soup looks great. I do love the cooking for winter better than summer cooking. I look forward to the start of cold weather so I can make chili, bean soup, chicken soup, stew, pot roast and all those other great hearty hot dishes.
