We buy home-grown popcorn from the Cooks. On pizza-and-video night, I heat 2 TB of canola oil in the popcorn popper and pour in 1 cup of popcorn kernels. It pops up beautifully and is enough for all seven of us (with pizza, of course.) You can also pop it in a heavy skillet covered with a loose lid. You'll want to shake, shake, shake it to keep it from burning if you do it this way. We add only salt, never butter. What I like about this popcorn is that it is quite filling, compared to the styrofoam I usually pop in my microwave, which fills me up about as much as air does!

You know, they say that coconut oil is a wonderful addition to the diet, and I have a difficult time working it in to anything. Popcorn is the sole exception. Coconut oil makes delicious popcorn that doesn't need butter (really - and I only EAT the popcorn for the butter!) Try that next time.
