Tell your children that in the Great Secret (secret from all people who aren't boys and are over 12) Grill race, we beat you. My dh grilled steaks on April 6th.

Glad to hear that your burger worked out. If you like zucchini or summer squash, they are great grilled and they don't take much time. I put a little olive oil on them and sprinkle them with salt and pepper and some herbs and put them on the grill for only 3-5 minutes depending on how thick they are. They are best when they are still a little crunchy.

I love to grill! Oh Kimmy try some onions and peppers on the grill and then throw them on your grilled veggie burger. I have a special barbeque thingy that's great for vegtables. Like Karen says brush your veggies with olive oil before grilling or else they will stick.

My dh braves the elements and grills in the winter sometimes, he is very brave. We never really put our grill away.

Yea for veggie burgers! Had some great ones in Naples. Black bean. Gonna try to find a recipe, make my own, and then freeze a bunch of them. I'm pretty much off animal flesh, too. Yuck. Although in Naples I ate more fish in two weeks than I have in two years. It was so incredibly fresh, and tasted so very much better than anything I can get here that is supposedly "fresh." Another reason to be in Florida. And, no, greezing (oops, I just made that word up, compining grilling and freezing), I mean grilling frozen patties IS ALLOWED!! ALWAYS!

I was going to say, we beat *everyone* cuz my hubby grills in the winter (yes, in *Michigan* winter)... but someone beat me to it. Oh well. So we don't really have a First Day of Grill Ceremony and all that.

Along with all manner of grilled animal flesh, we also like grilled asparagus. Hubby marinates it in some sort of butter-oil-seasonings concoction and throws it on the grill- it's excellent.

My herbivorous, er, vegetarian daughter likes Boca Burgers (so does my 12-y/o omnivorous son), but maybe we'll try Morningstar and see if they like those even better.
