T'Mahk Too - Comments on Toothless Tobi-Wan

Tobi-Wan lost his very first tooth yesterday. It wasn't shoved out earlier because the big tooth chose to come in behind it instead of under it. If we did the 'tooth fairy thing' he might have to save his quarters...

Yes, he is! I saw that you all were rained out yesterday. I felt so sorry for everyone that had to run to their cars in the lightning and rain!

The tooth fairy is pretty poor at our house. one dime for each tooth. At four kids, we couldn't afford $1 a tooth!

i was on the fence about the tooth fairy for a long, long time. my oldest had lost her first tooth, and still i hadn't decided. unfortunately it was decided for me when, at the age of 6, she came over from a sleep-over at a friends' house and excitedly announced, "jessica lost a tooth and put it under her pillow and it turned into a dollar!" i should have just done the quarter when i had the chance. fortunately though she hadn't been told what my other sister's kids had by the same family of cousins - first tooth is worth $5! oh my goodness, was i ever glad we missed that part!

oh and, tobi-wan looks totally adorable!

At our house, it's 50 cents a tooth for "normal" teeth. If they have to have it pulled (for orthodontia, NOT for lack of taking care of them) or if it gets knocked out, it's $1. Their first tooth is $1, their last is $10 (rite of passage and all). We just had a child lose three teeth in one day. I gave her $2 just for the cool novelty of it.

Congrats Toby Wan, you've just taken your first step into a more toothless universe!

Yes, he is adorable. The Tooth Fairy *does* come to our house, but everyone knows his real name is "Dad". I do have pics of him dressed up as the tooth fairy for Cheez' entertainment when she was about 4-- he had a little pink & blue umbrella and a fuzzy pink scarf. It was all a little scary if you ask me.

Yes, we have a HomeSchool Bookstore. It's at the HomeSchool Building. Now aren't you even more jealous? It's in Wyoming, directly SW of Grand Rapids. A 12-minute drive for me and maybe a 2-hour drive for you? (I'm not sure where in "central MI" you live.) I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem for you to ditch 6 kids for a day and drive over to do some browsing. :-) Let me know if you do.

He's a cutie!

Levi was without his two front teeth for almost a year. I was a bit concerned and took him to the dentist. He was fine, of course.

We did silver dollars here, but they did start to get scarce. We'll do it with Sam and Ben when it comes time, but I think we'll stick with quarters. Or those new gold dollars. hmmmm.

He's s'posed to wear a proper cap to the ball game. I think that's why the weather gods rained the game out. It was actually tobi-wan's fault. Truly. That's the way it works. I read it on Wikipedia.
